Ecopod

Project: Brand identity
Deliverables: Logo, stationery, van livery, marketing materials, website

Bringing luxe to eco-living.

Our brief was to launch a luxury eco-retreat in the Scottish Highlands, creating a visual identity, applying the identity across a wide range of items and producing a website.

With ‘geodesic dome’ accommodation pods, the Ecopod resort has an eco-friendly philosophy. Our brief was to create a visual identity, apply the identity across items ranging from umbrellas to blankets and design a website targeting up-market guests who appreciate luxury and align with Ecopod’s green credentials. We first created a simple but clever logo that mirrors the structure of the accommodation and forms an ‘e’ for Ecopod. Our strapline ‘boutique retreat’ sits within the logotype. For the website, we used a wide 'landscape' format to suit the retreat’s enviable location. Reinforcing Ecopod’s policy of minimal environmental impact, we hid the site’s information behind a small ‘eye’ icon. We also created the ‘escape’ van livery.

Logo

The negative space within the ‘e’ becomes a graphic of the ‘ecopod’ structure. The typeface Avant Garde echoed the dome shape.

Logo colour palette

We decided against specifying a brand colour, instead we created a seasonal palette of natural colours.

Branded words

The 'e' mark was designed to be used within words or short phrases that express brand values, these words can be layered over photography.

Business cards

All stationery featured macro photography of natural textures found in the area local to the Ecopod retreat.

Letterhead

The logo is positioned over the first fold of the letterhead, so when folded the pod within the logo sits on the base.

Dome membrane

To satisfy the strict planing regulations the domes needed camouflage. Our solution a triangular camouflage based on the iconic British Army DPM-95 pattern.

Van livery

The van livery was kept simple to maintain the premium feel of the brand.

Website

The website was designed as a wide 'landscape' format to suit the imagery of the retreat. Visit the site at www.domesweetdome.co.uk

"From the very first contact we had with Designers Anonymous, we were aware that we were dealing with professionals. Having the confidence to leave the project 100% in their hands was essential, it gave us the peace of mind to carry on with our own duties, speeding the whole process up. They seem to read our minds with regards to the design concept, and we were over the moon with final product."
